An initiative to create awareness about the early diagnosis
and treatment of Retinoblastoma Eye Cancer in children

Unleash your artistic talent to make a difference in the lives of children battling Retinoblastoma Eye Cancer

Having cancer is highly distressing and can be devastating not only for the patient, but the entire family. It causes huge physiological and psychological trauma, more so when it happens to a child.  By harnessing the power of art, you can become a catalyst for healing. Your artwork has the potential to make a lasting impact.

What is Retinoblastoma

Retinoblastoma is the most common eye cancer in children. It most commonly (90%) affects children younger than 3 years. Retinoblastoma is curable if the tumour is detected early. 20 to 25% cases of eye cancer worldwide in children are from India, and 50% of cases worldwide lose their lives due to late detection and inadequate treatment.

2nd Edition of Retinoblastoma: An Artistic Expression

’Art’ in any form is a very powerful medium of expression and appeals to the mind, body, and soul. In collaboration with the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts, the L V Prasad Eye Institute’s Kode Venkatadri Chowdary Campus in Vijayawada is organizing the second edition of ‘Retinoblastoma: An Artistic Expression’.

We invite dance and music lovers from across the globe – professional, amateur, budding – to create a three-minute song or dance on the theme of Retinoblastoma depicting the importance of early diagnosis and treatment to save the life and vision of children battling Retinoblastoma Eye Cancer.
